vasta area vulcanica che circonda la città di Napoli e la sua provincia. Un viaggio immaginario in un mondo parallelo, fatto di pietra, boschi, e resti antichi. Una terra indefinita, sospesa nel tempo, dove per effetto di illusioni pareidolitiche, osservando con attenzione i particolari del paesaggio, si possono scovare personaggi fiabeschi e demoniaci. Una montagna che per molti di noi è casa ma anche un vulcano, una terra complessa, ricca di fascino, dove si tramandano antichi riti e tradizioni, dove coesistono il bene ed il male, la luce ed il buio, il bianco ed il nero, che nelle loro infinite gradazioni, vanno a formare un’opera unica, come in una fotografia. Un omaggio ai luoghi della mia infanzia e adolescenza, alla natura, alla sua forza, ai suoi misteri. “Tra le idee, sulla pelle, nei nervi, nelle vene”. La mia è una famiglia, come tante, dove per diversi motivi, si vive a molti chilometri di distanza gli uni dagli altri. Quando mi fermo a riflettere su questa cosa, mi piace fare un parallelismo con il mondo della natura. Se pensiamo alle piante, ad esempio, alcuni studi scientifici hanno dimostrato che gli alberi, anche se molto lontani tra di loro, riescono a comunicare tramite le radici, collegate tra di loro da una estesa rete di batteri, funghi, e microrganismi, attraverso i quali, oltre a scambiarsi nutrienti riescono anche a trasmettersi informazioni, come la presenza di parassiti nelle vicinanze. Mi affascina tantissimo il parallelismo con il lupo, che è anche il simbolo della Sila, un altopiano dell’Appennino calabro, da dove ha origini la famiglia di mia moglie, i sui modi di vivere il branco, il suo nucleo famigliare, che sembrano molto simili ai nostri. La Calabria poi è anche la regione dove io e mia moglie abbiamo scelto di far nascere nostra figlia Irene. È cosi che immagino la mia famiglia adesso: come diverse foreste lontane nello spazio, ma unite da questa fitta rete sotterranea, attraverso la quale, come le piante, ci si protegge e ci si prende cura gli uni degli altri.
